Create Development, leaders in learning and whole child development, were delighted to be supporting Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar School in their presentation of the Create Development (CD) Wheel to over 40 schools at the recent Youth Sport Trust conference.

The CD Wheel, an online ‘Assessment for Learning’ programme which profiles, tracks and measures both the progress of the learner and the performance of the school, has been used by the PE Department at Chislehurst & Sidcup for the past two years.

Asked to present as part of the conference’s school-led best practice segment, staff and pupils shared their experiences of using the CD Wheel for assessment in Key Stage 3 PE. Two Year 9 pupils talked about their personal learning journeys and the impact of the Wheel on helping them recognise their personal objectives and how to achieve them.

Danny Gower, Head of PE at Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar School, said:

“It is fantastic to work with an assessment model that pupils and staff understand! Pupils setting targets and taking an interest in their own development is central to our philosophy and we are confident that the CD Wheel will help us engage pupils in this process.”
